A key feature of the Grapevine post-purchase survey is the ability to reclassify survey responses.
This is particularly useful for those Merchants who enable the Other survey response option. The Other option is a survey response that allows customers to type in their answer to the survey as freeform text, usually providing a unique response.
Merchants may therefore wish to reclassify these responses so that they fit into one of their predefined survey options, or, they may wish to create a new survey option off the back of some of the responses received.
Normalising the data through reclassification makes the charts and downloadable data in the Grapevine app easier to read and analyse.
How do I reclassify a survey response?
Survey responses can be reclassified via the Submissions view within the Grapevine app.
Visit the Submissions view and on the right hand side of each submission that appears on that page, you will see the option to Reclassify/Edit:
Click on the Reclassify/Edit link and you will be presented with the details of that submission ready for editing:
Click on the dropdown list underneath the Select new option label to select a different survey response. Alternatively, selecting the Other checkbox will allow you to edit the response with a custom answer.
We have also provided an additional Notes field where you can add an internal note against each response. You can use this field to add any additional information that you gather which is particularly useful when reclassifying some of your Other responses into predefined survey options. It can be used to help you to keep track of some of the additional info that may have been contained within the Other response before reclassification.
The Notes field will also be contained within the survey download data.
