This article is only relevant to Merchants who are on our GrapevineEXTRA plan and are using the legacy version of the ReCharge Payments app where the checkout is hosted by ReCharge Payments rather than on Shopify.
For Recharge customers using the standard Shopify checkout, you DO NOT need to upgrade to GrapevineExtra. The Grapevine survey will appear on the Shopify checkout automatically.
What does it do?
If you sell subscription products using the ReCharge Payments app, the Grapevine post-purchase survey can be enabled so that is displayed to customers who checkout using ReCharge payments. The survey will appear at the top of the ReCharge Thank you page, which appears after a successful checkout.
Here's how the survey will appear on the ReCharge Thank you page, as you can see, it is very similar to how it appears on the default Shopify Order Status Page:
How do I enable my Grapevine survey on the ReCharge checkout?
Once you have customised and activated your Grapevine survey question, select the ReCharge option from the main Grapevine menu:
There is only one option on the ReCharge page which is to enable the ReCharge integration. Check the ReCharge enabled checkbox and then hit the Save button:
The screen will then refresh and you will be presented with a small snippet of code:
Copy the code by clicking on the copy icon that appears over the code snippet:
A small notice will then appear to confirm that the code has been copied:
Head over to the ReCharge app in your Shopify store and then click on the settings icon to the right of the main menu and then select the Checkout option:
Scroll down to the Thank you page section on that page where you will see a large input area for "Additional & scripts and trackers":
Paste in the code that you copied from the Grapevine app:
Hit the Save button and that's it!
How will I know if it is working?
To test that the Grapevine survey is working on the ReCharge checkout, place a test order for a subscription product that ensures that you are directed to the ReCharge payment checkout.
Once you have placed your test order, check to make sure that the Grapevine survey appears on your ReCharge Thank you page. If it does not appear, then please do get in touch and we will take a look.
When customers start to submit Grapevine survey responses via the ReCharge Thank you page, you will start to see those entries in the Submissions view within the Grapevine app. They will be labelled as being captured via ReCharge Checkout:
